Melpomene was the muse of tragedy in Greek mythology, the daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne. She was known as the muse who enchanted the souls of her listeners. Melpomene would bring out the deepest and most meaningful emotions and inspire with stories. According to myth, mermaids were born from Melpomene. Mermaids would sing incredibly beautiful songs. While Melpomene would use her voice to tell stories, mermaids would use their charming voices to lure those who heard them to death.
